So, what’s the story with this blog?…

Below is an excerpt from a film review I wrote called THE ROAD :

“This is what I call a ‘good movie’. It is honest and human and raw and gritty and…true to form. Alternatively, it could a be a ‘happy’ film that was originalfresh and unique in its own right. It’s like… when you are so unbelievably hungry and you get to eat exactly what it was you were craving; by the end of it, you feel so entirely content and fulfilled. I don’t know about you, but when I’m hungry and I eat something that I wasn’t hungry for in the first place, I’m still hungry afterwards. A verdict of C or lower doesn’t necessarily mean the film was ‘bad’. It might have been very enjoyable, yes, but it’s not necessarily a film I can’t stop talking about with my friends and family, a film that truly resonates within me and that I know I will remember years from now. To me, if i can just think of the film’s name and my heart skips a beat or the emotions I felt when I saw it come rushing back immediately, & all I want to do is talk about every aspect of it, THAT is a damn good movie. That movie ROCKED.”

I have a minor in Film Studies and wanted to exercise my writing and analytical skills through a social medium. Film is a very important part of my life. Sounds a tad crazy, I know.  After a rough period early on in school, I became obsessed with magic of cinema and its ability to drive emotive response. I developed an insatiable need to soak up as much as I could. I’ve loved films for as long as I can remember and I wanted to make this blog to document my opinions, general film interests and occasional blurb on TV shows.

You are more than welcome to comment and leave your suggestions (I actually really hope you do). I hope you’ll grow fond of this blog and will choose to check back. If not, you’ll be missed, stranger!

Welcome.

And tell your friends.
